This is perhaps the most basic and most important tip of all. Your stance displays the confidence you have in yourself. The picture below shows a woman ready to fight. Imagine if she were to drop her hands to just above her breast and open them toward the threat. She would look a lot less aggressive, but still just as ready to fight and perhaps even more confident.
Remember these points:
- Feet – Stand on the balls of your feet
- Feet – Shoulder width apart with your week foot slightly in front of your strong
- Knees – Slightly bent to allow quick movement and absorb shock
- Abdomen – firm, not to the point of exhaustion, but tight
- Hands – at about the level of you chin or high chest
- Hands – open until you have to hit
- Head – on a swivel – looking around
- Eyes – on your target
